In order to respect the quality of indexing between the plates, SHIMANO highly recommend selecting the tray for your teeth present, indicated by a letter: A, B or E.

What does outer, middle or inner stands for ?
- Outer : the outer chainring is the chainring on the right side of your crankset when you're riding your bike, whether you have a double, compact or triple crankset.
- Middle : The middle chainring is the one in the middle of your triple crankset. No Middle chainring on double or compact crankset.
- Inner : the inner chainring is the one of the left side of your crankset when you're riding your bike, whether you have a double, compact or triple crankset.
How do I determine the diameter (BCD) of my chainrings ?
There are currently 5 sizes for Road chainrings :
- 135 mm for double and triple CAMPAGNOLO, middle and outer rings.
39t is the smallest chainring for middle (in case of triple) or inner position (in case of double).
- 130 mm for double and triple SHIMANO (middle and outer rings) and all other brands such as SRAM, Truvativ, FSA, RACE FACE, STRONGLIGHT, etc ...
38t is the smallest chainring for middle (in case of triple) or inner position (in case of double).
- 110 mm for all compact cranksets on the market, regardless of brand (Campagnolo, Shimano, FSA etc ...).
33t is the smallest chainring for inner chainring.
- 92 mm for inner chainring SHIMANO Triple like Ultegra FC6703 and Dura Ace FC7803
- 74 mm for SHIMANO and other brands inner chainring for triple cranksets.
